Parent’s Guide to Ziplining
As a parent, you’re always searching for experiences that thrill your kids and create lasting memories. At Tree Limin’ Extreme Zipline, we offer exactly that, a chance for the whole family to zip high above the rainforest of St. Thomas.
We want every moment of your adventure to be joyful and stress-free. With just a little bit of preparation, your ziplining visit can be less about logistical worries and more about celebrating victories and sharing those incredible views.
Here are our essential tips to prepare your family for the big day, from pre-trip planning to the moment you zip across the line.
Before You Arrive
Being prepared means you can focus entirely on the fun. Here’s what you need to do before you arrive to the course.
1. Dive Into the Excitement Online
Get a sneak peek and feel the energy of our course by checking out what others are saying.
- Watch the Thrill: Explore our Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and look through TripAdvisor reviews. You’ll see amazing guest photos, videos of the exhilarating “Yo-Yo” zipline, and read firsthand accounts of the fun and professionalism of our guides. Knowing what to expect reduces nerves and builds excitement.
2. Choose the Right Clothing
The right clothes ensure maximum comfort and safety with the harness.
- Wear comfortable and flexible clothing that allows you to move freely.
- Select bottoms that allow the harness to fit snugly around your waist and legs (athletic shorts or pants work well).
- Closed-toe shoes are required. We highly recommend sneakers or athletic footwear.
- Any accessories, like hats or sunglasses, should be snug and secure (consider using straps to prevent loss).
3. Complete your Waivers
Once completing your booking you’ll receive an email with access to fill out your waivers. We highly recommend doing this as soon as possible to ensure a smooth check-in experience. Taking the time before the excursion to fill in participant details will ensure when you arrive for your tour, all you have to focus on is fun!
4. Pack Your Adventure Essentials
Small bags that can be worn handsfree such as a cross-body or small backpacks are allowed to carry on the tour.
Make sure your bag has some of these necessities:
- Water for hydration in the Caribbean heat.
- Sun protection, including sunscreen and sunglasses.
- Photography: Phones, cameras, and GoPros are great, but ensure you have a secure way to attach them to yourself while you are zipping, safety first!
- Relive the Memories: With our Zipline Souvenir Package you can grab everything you need on the tour and to remember it after.

At the Park: Trust your Guides!
Once you arrive at our base on St. Peter Mountain, these simple steps will ensure a smooth transition into your ziplining adventure.
1. Watch the Safety Briefing
Your guides will give you all the information you need, from how the gear works, to zipping positions, and safety rules. Listen carefully, even if you’ve zipped before, and ask any questions you have. Our team’s training, combined with our ACCT-certified course, is designed to keep every guest safe.
2. Trust Your Personal Safety Gear
We understand it’s natural to feel a bit nervous watching your kids (or yourself!) high above the canopy. But feel confident knowing that our commitment to safety means every harness, helmet, and cable has been thoroughly inspected. Our professional guides are experts at ensuring you are always securely fitted and double-checked before every zipline.
3. Encourage Your Kids (and Yourself!)
Ziplining is a major confidence booster. If your kids are feeling timid, a little encouragement goes a long way. Our guides are experts at calming nerves and celebrating small victories. If they hit a challenging moment, let them work through it with guidance from our staff, the feeling of accomplishment is worth it!
