If you are looking for a way to share the thrill of a Caribbean adventure with your kids, look no further than the canopy of St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands. At Tree Limin’ Extreme, we specialize in making sure the whole family gets in on the adventure.
While many people think of ziplining as an individual activity, our tandem zipping experience is a game-changer for parents, siblings, and our younger participants.
What is Tandem Zipping?
Tandem zipping allows lighter guests to zip with another guest attached together on the line at the same time. We require guests under 70 lbs to zip tandem to ensure they have enough weight and momentum to make it across the line.
But it’s not just about the physics, it’s about the fun! It provides a totally different experience for parents and kids to soar through the rainforest together. When you zip tandem, you have the choice of zipping side-by-side or with the smaller guest between your legs.

Mix and Match: Switch Your Partner!
To add to the fun, lighter guests can switch between parents or siblings throughout the tour as long as the weight and age requirements are met.
This means Mom can zip the first few lines with her youngest, and then Big Brother can take over for the next few. It keeps the energy high and ensures everyone gets to share a zip with each other!
Requirements for Tandem & Solo Zipping
To keep everyone safe we strictly adhere to the following requirements. All guests will be weighed at check-in to ensure compliance.
- Age: Guests must be 5 years or older.
- Weight for Solo: To zip solo, you must weigh between 70 lbs and 275 lbs.
- Tandem Weight: Children under 70 lbs must ride tandem. The combined weight of both guests cannot exceed 275 lbs.
- Guardians: Children ages 5–7 must ride with a guardian 18 or older. Guests 8 and older may ride with any other participant over 8.
- Height: Minimum of 44 inches and a maximum of 6’6”.
